Bank Holidays 2025: If you plan to complete any important tasks involving banks in 2025, it’s important to check the list of holidays in advance. For instance, in January, banks are closed for a total of 15 days, including weekly closures and national or regional holidays.
Banks observe holidays every Sunday and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Additionally, they are closed for festivals and other special occasions.

Bank Customers can check the RBI calendar for state-wise holidays. While banks across the country are closed on national holidays, regional holidays apply only to specific states or regions, meaning only banks in those areas will be closed.

- January 1, 2025: Banks remained closed across the country on New Year’s Day on Wednesday.
- January 06, 2025: On Monday, banks remained closed in some states including Punjab on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.
- January 11, 2025: Second Saturday, banks across the country remained closed.
- January 12, 2025: Weekly holiday on Sunday.
- January 13, 2025: Banks remained closed in Punjab and some other states on Monday due to the festival of Lohri.
- January 14, 2025: Banks are closed in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday due to Sankranti and Pongal.
- January 15, 2025: On Wednesday, there will be a bank holiday in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam due to Tusu Puja on the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day.
- January 23, 2025: On Thursday, banks will not function in many states on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary.
- January 25, 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on Saturday due to the weekly holiday.
- January 26, 2025: There will be a bank holiday across the country on Sunday on the occasion of Republic Day.
- January 30, 2025: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on Thursday due to Sonam Losar.
